Laser Skin Treatments
About Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing uses precise beams of light to remove the outermost layers of damaged skin and heat the underlying tissue. This process stimulates the body's natural production of collagen, which results in smoother skin, a visible reduction in wrinkles, and a tighter, firmer complexion.

FAQs
-
Fall-Winter is typically referred to as Laser Season because laser treated skin is hypersensitive to sun exposure. Regardless of when you get a laser treatment, always wear an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen daily.
-
No. Only a highly trained skin professional, such as a Board-Certified Dermatologist or Medical Aesthetician, should perform your laser treatment. Choose your laser provider based on their experience and qualification, NOT on the best deal.
-
It depends. Schedule a consult with one of our providers to discuss your goals, concerns, and medical history. Lasers are not for everyone, and certain medical ailments and medications could affect efficacy. There is no one-laser solution for all skin concerns. Our highly trained medical professionals will guide you on the best course of action for your individual needs.

Why Sciton mJOULE?

What can I expect during and after my treatment?
A topical anesthetic is applied 30 minutes prior to Moxi treatments. A warm, prickling sensation will be felt while the provider maneuvers the handpiece along the targeted area. A cooling device may be used to mitigate the heat. Redness can persist for up to 7 days depending on the intensity of treatment. MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) will appear on the 2nd or 3rd day after treatment as tiny dark spots and bronzed appearance to the treated skin. Swelling can occur and is typically expected immediately after treatment. Our staff will guide you through the recovery process to optimize your results.

Edge CO2A fractional ablative laser used to resurface and rejuvenate the skin. It works by delivering a unique pulse that creates tiny perforations in the skin, vaporizing columns of damaged tissue while leaving the surrounding skin intact to promote quicker healing and less downtime than traditional CO2 lasers. The treatment triggers a powerful collagen remodeling response, making it highly effective for treating concerns like fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, and general skin tightening and texture improvement.
What is the EDGE?
This laser precisely targets each patient's individual needs from deep in the dermis to superficial layers of the skin. Energy delivery is optimized to promote quick healing with minimal downtime and long-lasting results. Benefits are often visible in 1-3 treatments.
What can I expect during and after treatment?
A topical anesthetic is applied 30 minutes prior to treatment to help with discomfort. The procedure itself will typically last between 30-60 minutes depending on an individual's needs. Application of the laser will create a warm sensation to the targeted area. Your skin may feel warm like a sunburn immediately following the treatment. Redness will be visible for a few days afterwards, after which you may experience peeling. New skin will appear 7-10 days after treatment. Our staff will guide you on an appropriate skin regimen to optimize your results and healing.
