About Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that consists of fine needles puncturing the skin to stimulate the body's natural healing process, increasing the production of collagen and elastin. It can improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, and skin texture and tone.
RW Dermatology uses SkinPen Elite, the first FDA approved microneedling device. SkinPen can be used year-round on all skin tones and types, creating smoother, firmer skin with results visible in as little as 1-3 treatments spaced four weeks apart.
A topical anesthetic is applied 30 minutes prior to treatment. You may feel a mild buzzing sensation as the device is maneuvered over the treatment area. Some redness may persist for a day or two, and you should be able to resume normal daily activities within 24 hours.
